Kansa Wand Scalp & Body Ayurvedic Massage Tool
$51.00
Unit price perSeven smooth Kansa nodes. A carved wooden handle. Pressure precisely where you need it.
This tool is made for two practices: Śiro Abhyanga, the classical Ayurvedic scalp massage, and marma point work on the body. The rounded nodes are shaped to sit accurately on a marma point and sustain contact there your shoulders, the base of your skull, your upper back, the soles of your feet. Used slowly, with oil, the Kansa draws excess heat from your tissue. You feel the release immediately.
On the scalp the nodes cover a broad area with each movement. On the body a single node locates the precise marma point. One tool, two practices, one material that Ayurvedic tradition has relied upon for this quality specifically: solid bronze cools. It calms your Pitta, settles your Vata.
To maintain the quality and longevity of your Kansa Scalp & Body Tool:
- Cleaning: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth after each use. Avoid soaking in water, as it may damage the wood.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

How to Use
Scalp
Apply 4–6 drops of hair oil to your scalp. Place the nodes in contact with the scalp. Work in slow circles from the hairline to the crown, covering the full scalp including temples and base of the skull. Five to ten minutes. Wipe the tool clean after use.
Body
Apply body or Abhyanga oil to the area first. Hold the nodes flat against your skin. Move in slow circles over areas of tension. For marma points, hold the nodes still and apply gentle sustained pressure for 30–60 seconds per point. Always use with oil. Wipe and dry the tool after each use.
When to practice
Śiro Abhyanga is a morning practice. In classical Ayurveda it belongs to the Dinacharya routine, apply your hair oil first, work the nodes across the scalp, and allow the oil to absorb for 20–30 minutes before bathing.
Marma massage on the body is better suited to the evening, when the day is behind you and the practice can be given the time and stillness it requires. Apply your body oil, take the Kansa tool and work from the upper body downward.

For Ayurveda Professionals
Working marma points by hand is effective. It is also tiring, and fingertip contact on the scalp, where multiple points sit close together is slow.
The nodes of this tool contact several scalp marma points at once. The bronze draws localized heat through contact without pressure. You cover more ground, with less fatigue, more consistently.
It belongs in Śiro Abhyanga, Purvakarma preparation, post-Shirodhara integration, and Pada marma work. Solid Kansa bronze throughout, no coating, no interference with medicated oils.
If you work marma, this is an Ayurvedic tool worth having.
