Bhringraj Hair Oil
Bhringraj (Eclipta prostrata) is named Keshraj in the classical texts: the King of Hair. This oil is the tradition's simplest preparation of it, the whole herb infused slowly into pure sesame oil, with nothing else added.
Ingredients
Sesamum indicum Seed Oil, Eclipta prostrata Leaf Extract*. *Infused in sesame oil base. Contains sesame.
How to use
Warm a small amount and work it into the scalp and hair in slow circles for 10 to 15 minutes. Leave in for at least half an hour, or overnight, then wash out thoroughly. Use once or twice a week before washing.

The weekly oil ritual
Ayurvedic hair care does not begin in the shower. It begins the evening or the hour before, with oil worked into the scalp and through the lengths, left to sit, and then washed out. Done once or twice a week, this is the oldest hair routine there is, and Bhringraj oil is the preparation generations have reached for first. The massage matters as much as the oil: slow circles over the whole scalp, a few quiet minutes, no hurry.
Two ingredients, one job
Sesame oil is the classical base for hair oils, warming and penetrating in the traditional description. Bhringraj is infused into it slowly until the oil carries the character of the herb. Two ingredients do the whole job: the scalp is nourished, the hair is conditioned, keeps its natural shine and stays easier to manage. Nothing in the bottle needs explaining away.
