What Chyavanprash is
Chyavanprash is a classical Ayurvedic food supplement, offered by Art of Vedas. It is built on Amalaki (Phyllanthus emblica) fruit, combined with a large group of classical herbs including the Dashamoola roots, in a traditional base of ghee, honey and sugar. It is made in India under Good Manufacturing Practice, and the ingredients are reviewed against EU food law.
Because it contains ghee and honey, Chyavanprash is not vegan, and it contains milk (from ghee) and sesame. The recommended intake is shown on the pack. As with any food supplement, it is not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet.
Chyavanprash in classical Ayurveda
Chyavanprash is the best-known rasayana of the classical Ayurvedic literature, recorded in the Charaka Samhita.

Heavy metals

Pesticide residues
Pesticide residues are tested and are within the maximum residue levels (MRLs) set for food under EU law (Regulation (EC) No 396/2005). Testing covers the pesticide groups relevant to dried botanical ingredients.

Microbiological safety
Microbiological safety is tested to the criteria applied to food supplements. Overall counts stay within limits and the specified pathogens were each absent.
