In brief: A centre or spa group can have classical oils and powders packed under its own name, for the treatment room and for retail. Each project agrees the formats, minimum quantities, artwork, labelling languages and the Responsible Person before production starts.

Why centres choose their own label

A centre with its own label keeps its guests with its own name. The oil used in the treatment is the oil on the retail shelf, and a guest who wants more comes back to the centre rather than to a brand found elsewhere. For groups with several locations, one label also settles what every location uses, so a treatment is the same wherever it is given.

What can be packed

Classical Thailams and base oils, and powders for the treatment room and for face packs, in formats for the back-bar and for retail. The starting point is usually the two or three preparations a centre uses most, and the product its guests ask for after a treatment.

What is agreed at the start

  • Products and formats, for the treatment room and for retail.
  • Minimum quantities, set per product and format.
  • Artwork and label text, including every item of information the law requires on the pack.
  • Labelling languages for the countries where the products will be sold.
  • The Responsible Person for the products placed on the market under your name.
  • Production planning and lead times, and the rhythm of replenishment once the line is running.

The Responsible Person

Under EU cosmetics law, every cosmetic product placed on the market has a Responsible Person established in the EU. It is the business named on the label: it holds the product information file and the safety assessment, and it notifies the product before it is sold. When a product carries your name, this role has to be settled in writing before the first batch, and we settle it at the start of every private-label project.

How a project runs

  1. Introductory call: your treatment menu, volumes and locations.
  2. Product selection: the preparations and formats for the treatment room and for retail.
  3. Packaging and labelling plan: artwork, label text and languages.
  4. Onboarding: your professional account on Shop Ayurveda EU and the ordering workflow.
  5. Production and replenishment: first batch, then a planned reorder rhythm.

A pilot run is possible for a new concept or a seasonal programme, before a larger first order.

Starting a project

Write to info@artofvedas.com, or use the enquiry form on our wholesale page, with the products you have in mind, the volumes you expect and the countries where you will sell. Our guides to Ayurvedic products for spas and to the professional oil formats help to decide which preparations belong in the line.

Common questions

What is the minimum quantity for a private-label product?

It is set per product and format at the start of the project, together with the lead time for the first batch.

Can the label be in several languages?

Yes. The labelling languages are agreed for the countries where the products will be sold.

Can we start with a small pilot?

A pilot run is possible for a new concept or a seasonal programme, before a larger order.

Does the Responsible Person have to be in the EU?

Yes. Every cosmetic product on the EU market needs a Responsible Person established in the EU, and who takes that role is agreed at the start of each project.
